Lesson Planning and Assessment Pupils' Learning Workshops

More than 60 teachers attended the Lesson Planning and Assessment Pupils' Learning workshops. For the Lesson Planning workshop, the teachers learned the various aspects of lesson planning. They were also provided with examples of good lesson plans. They had to apply what they had learnt to design good lesson plans and present to the group for feedback from the instructor and their peers.

For the Assessing Pupils' Learning workshop, the teachers learned about the essential principles of assessing learning. They learned to design, specifically summative assessments which include the setting of multiple-choice questions (MCQ), short answer and essay questions which are in keeping with the intended learning outcomes. During the workshops, the teachers were also asked to reflect on what they had learnt. This reinforced and personalised their learning - a strength of all Klover Asia’s workshops.

“The instructor is very knowledgeable in her field. She spoke clearly and covered a lot of materials.”

“Loved that it was fast paced. Peer assessment and collective learning.”

Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking Workshop

This workshop for more than 30 of the school’s teaching assistants focused on the learning strategies for teaching the four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Different strategies were highlighted and shown how they could be used effectively in the class. The teaching assistants had to apply what they had learnt and design a lesson on one of the four skills. This workshop is useful as the teaching assistants will be able to incorporate the activities in their classes.

“The course is practical... (able) to apply the learning activities/process.”

“Well explained and the information was clearly delivered and understood.”

Klover Asia is proud to collaborate with TSIS to enhance the professional development of their staff.
