Mentoring and Coaching Workshop at Cluster Level

“A lot of people have gone further than they thought they could because someone else thought they could.”

– Zig Ziglar

Klover Asia achieved another milestone on 6 April 2017. We conducted a workshop for teacher leaders at the cluster level. The first workshop of two, which centred on the main topic of Mentoring and Coaching, saw over 20 participants from schools in the W3 cluster.

Dr. Justina Tan led the Lead Teachers (LTs), Senior Teachers (STs), and School Staff Developers (SSDs) through the various aspects of mentoring and coaching. The workshop content, grounded in the local context, was framed by several hands-on activities and real-life illustrations. It was well-received by the teacher leaders and SSDs who found the knowledge relevant and practical.

Klover Asia is scheduled to hold the second workshop later in April. This session will build on the learning of the first workshop and focus on the key topic of giving and receiving effective feedback, a valuable life skill that yields benefits for the individual beyond that of the mentoring and coaching contexts.

What our participants had to say after the workshop:

“Lively and practical. Interesting and informative” – Ruby, Senior Teacher

“Very practical knowledge. Something that we can relate to. I really enjoyed the session very much. Looking forward to the next… I think it was a good idea to have activities that we could align back to our roles.” – Rena, School Staff Developer
