Klover Asia Returns to CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls' School

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember. Involve me and I learn.”

– Benjamin Franklin

Klover Asia returned to CHIJ Saint Nicholas Girls' School in Singapore on 15 March 2017, to conduct a series of workshops on Project Planning and Management, Creative Problem-Solving and Ethical Leadership. Almost 80 secondary two to four student councillors attended the half-day workshops which delved deep into the subject matters and saw the participants taking part in hands-on activities and presentations beyond lectures.

The trainers provided clear explanations and the content was constantly related back to the students’ school and leadership experiences to illustrate real-life applications. Combined with strong interactions between the participants and the trainers, the student councillors managed candid discussions on the topics and their learning was greatly enhanced in the process.

Based on the comments below, it is evident that these student leaders not only benefitted personally from the enjoyable sessions, they also stand in good stead to employ their newly gained knowledge to contribute to the school and their peers.

What our participants had to say after the workshops:

“It was engaging and interactive, and the content brought up was useful and applicable beyond school.” – Kimberly

“Weaved in our school values and common problems (not hypothetical situations)… Instructor was quick and able to give great suggestions due to experience.” – Jamin

“It taught us a lot of ways to come up with ideas so that we won’t run out of ideas… It wasn’t generic, which is a good thing. Often, workshops always repeat stuff, I feel that this workshop provided new ideas :)” – Magdalene

“The interactive activities helped in demonstrating the concept… It was engaging and helped me understand a lot more about problem-solving. It was definitely enriching!” – Aihsley

“The content was very useful and relevant, I will definitely make use of the post-it brainstorm idea for upcoming projects/ group discussions!” – Alayna

“The workshop had fun and interesting activities that engaged the audience very well! The trainer was also well-prepared and clear in her explanation. The workshop was fun and interesting in general. It is really beneficial to me.” – Chloe

“Very clear explanation, focuses on the main point, gets the students’ participation :) Very engaging!!!” – Wen Pei

“The activity accurately sums up the workshop’s content and it helped me understand project management better. Enriching as it touched on concepts I never knew.” – Sharleen

“I enjoyed the fact that it included our sharing and views, and not just the instructor’s (input). I enjoyed it and found it informative and enriching.” – Noleen

“It was quite informative and fun with the egg activity, the duration was also good and I do not regret attending it.” – Emma
